Best-kept Beauty-Secrets of the Sexiest Woman EVER!
Flawless skin, pouty lips and snow-white teeth – Jesus Christ, Marilyn Monroe had it! Photoshop and instagram filters? No need! Marilyn had her own tricks!
We tell you the best-kept beauty secrets of the world’s most famous sex-symbol.
Plumper Lips
Marilyn’s makeup artists applied 5 different shades of lipstick to make her lips appear fuller. As a finish they added gloss to create dimension. Darker shades went on the outer corners, while lighter hues were brushed on the middle (so called “blurred lips“).
Vaseline as a primer and highlighter
You thought contouring and highlighting were newer trends? All wrong! Marilyn highlighted her face with petroleum jelly and then used blush to enhance the hollows of her cheeks and to refine the tip of her nose. She applied the jelly to the cheekbones, brow bones and cupid’s bow. Further vaseline was her primer before applying foundation. This trick made her skin look amazingly fresh and glowing on camera, creating kind of a photoshopped look.
Layer Skin Care Products
Marilyn moisturized and hydrated her face day and night. She was famous for her radiant, firm and youthful skin. Therefore she used different layers of Vaseline, Nivea, Erno Laszlo Active Phelityl Cream (still on the market) and hormone cream.
Cut your false lashes
Want those come-to-bed eyes? Marilyn’s trick was, to cut normal false lashes in half and apply it only to the outer edges.
Spray perfume onto your hairbrush
Marilyn loved this trick! When time she moved, everyone was able to smell her perfume (Chanel No. 5 by the way).
Baking soda for teeth whitening
In the 60’s and 70’s, Marilyn had not the opportunities of professional bleaching methods, so she used baking soda to get sparkling white teeth. And it worked really well. Once a week she brushed her teeth with baking soda.
Beautiful brows
Marilyn had a very distinct brow shape. She was one of the first to pioneer a whole new eyebrow look. Hers were shaded in with a very high point at the arch, to give the appearance of a wide and “open“ brow and eye area and accentuate her heart shaped face.
Eyeshadow
Monroe called it the “Greta Garbo eye,” as the silent screen star was the one who originally blended white eye shadow on the lids all the way up to the brow bone and into the inner corners to add more depth.
Milk & Egg breakfast shake
Before she took her morning shower, Marilyn started warming a cup of milk. When it was hot she broke two raw eggs into it, whipped them up with a fork, and drank it while she was dressing. Plus she supplemented this drink with a multi-vitamin pill. That was her every-day breakfast. She was also known for eating a lot of meat and raw carrots. Sounds pretty much like a low-carb/paleo diet.
