POWERFUL WAYS TO BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE

Category : Beauty, Health | Written by : Iris Pohl

Sometimes, we dont even realize how negatively we think about ourselves. But once we become aware of it, we can begin to change the way we think. Self-confidence gives us the power to conquer the world. When you feel good about yourself, youre unstoppable! Heres how you can learn to be more confident in everything you do.

Stay away from negativity

Choose your inner circle wisely! Surround yourself with people who make you happy, who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need—people who really care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through. It’s time to get away from those who put you down and make you feel bad about yourself. Other people’s opinions should not have any sway on you or your life. Try to be positive, even if you’re not feeling it yet. Stop focusing on the negative parts of your life and instead focus on your possibilities.

Know your strengths

Find out what your strong points are, no matter what they are. It will definitely give your self-confidence a boost, whether it be skills in cooking or painting. When you feel good about yourself, you know you can do anything! Deep inside, knowing you have skills that give you an edge will definitely make you a happier and more confident person.

Love & accept yourself

Nobody’s perfect. It is important that you do not beat yourself up over things that you have trouble doing. Instead of complaining about your weaknesses, try to find ways to improve your life. Accept yourself, you are AMAZING!

Stop comparing yourself to others

You are not supposed to be like anyone else. You are unique in this world. Your way is solely yours. Don’t try to copy other people or their path in life. If you want something to compare yourself to, think of who you were yesterday and who you are today.

Be aware of how you talk to yourself

Have you ever noticed that people speak to themselves in a way they would never speak to others? Self-criticism leaves you upset or depressed and is rarely useful. Be nice to yourself!

Be thankful

It doesn’t matter how difficult your life is at the moment. There is always something to be thankful for, some shining light of gratitude. Finding that will help you build more confidence and happiness. It isn’t the situation that’s the problem. It’s your attitude towards the situation that makes it easier or more difficult. Before you go to bed each night, write down five things you are grateful for that day and why. This is an important step. Gratitude alone can change your life.

Say no

Do you have problems saying no when you want to? Learn how to solve this problem. In the long term, not being assertive in this way can affect your self-esteem and lead to depression and anxiety.

It is impossible to please everybody. If you always say yes you’ll find that people will give you more and more to do and you won’t be able to attend to what you need to. Confident people know that saying no is healthy, and they have the self-assurance to make their nos clear. Say no with confidence!

Help others feel good about themselves

When you help other people feel better about themselves, it will make you feel good about yourself. See what you can do to make others smile. Try complimenting them, helping them out with something or telling them what you admire about them.

Create goals

Set achievable goals on a regular basis and then take small steps to accomplish them. Make sure your goals are measurable and monitor your progress. Don’t get upset if you don’t accomplish all of your goals. You can always change them.

Be persistent

Self-confidence works just like a muscle – either you use it or you lose it. Do not make excuses on why you should quit or give up. Learn from your mistakes and try to improve on your situation. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to be successful. The key is to keep at it until you get what you want. Never give up!
